We have created a range of materials to help the community get to know our warning signs, including three picture books.
In these stories we meet the warning signs and learn what they do to keep us safe.

There are three warning levels. They are the same for bushfires, floods, storms and extreme heat.

Advice

Yellow means an incident has started. There is no immediate danger. Stay up to date in case the situation changes.

Watch and act

Watch and act

Orange means there is a heightened level of threat. Conditions are changing and you need to start taking action now to protect you and your family.

Emergency warning

Emergency warning

Red is the highest level of warning. You may be in danger and need to take action immediately. Any delay now puts your life at risk.
